We don't know how every national junk removal franchise runs, and we won't guess or talk about their prices. What we do have is several hundred reviews from customers, and some of them compared us with other companies after trying both. This page shares their words, unedited, with their name and where they posted.
Customers who compared us with a national brand
Only a few reviews name or clearly describe a national company. Here they are in full.
Quoting from a photo
They just did a job for me today and they were cheap and did a great job. I had contacted a big name Junk removal and they said they would get back to me and never did. They said "No junk removal companies will give a quote on a picture sent to them" But Legacy was so easy. Sent them a pic and they sent a quote with a range low to high and when they got here they went with the low quote.
Waiting until next Friday
Legacy Junk Removal came the same day I called. I was moving out my house for the past week and had a bunch of junk furniture on the driveway just sitting there. 1-800-Junk would not send somebody to pick it up until next Friday. I called Legacy Junk Removal and they showed up within an hour and got the driveway looking pretty for the new owner. I will be using their services again in the future.
Price, and a missing canopy
Ricardo and Brian showed up the same morning and moved my annual junk pile quickly and cleanly, at a great price! Last year, I paid GotJunk twice as much and they took a perfectly good pop up canopy set that was not part of my junk pile and then couldn't find it afterwards. Not so with Legacy. Family owned and what a great family!
What customers said about price
Most price comparisons in our reviews don't name the other company, so we can't tell you whether it was a franchise or another local hauler. Here's what people wrote:
- "charged me less than half the quote I’d gotten prior" (John K., Google)
- "he beat the best quote we got" (Amalia L., Yelp)
- "the best price from three services I got quotes from" (Fritz O., Google)
- "I was being charged a “same day” fee by other junk removal companies they didn’t." (Dayana R., Google)
Incredible service, unbeatable price and family owned business everyone should use for junk removal. Ricardo and Brian were on time, courteous, knowledgeable and got loaded a 4 seater spa and double refrigerator in under an hour and for $350 less than the competition. Call these folks for all your junk removal needs!
Prices depend on the job, so treat these as one customer's experience, not a promise. The only way to know for your pile is to get a quote.
What customers said about timing and follow-through
A cheap quote doesn't help if nobody shows up. Several reviewers came to us after another company fell through:
- "They responded to me after another junk company canceled at the last minute and helped me so much." (Abby B., Yelp)
- "I’d been trying to get some stuff removed for a while, with another company and been rescheduled multiple times." (Chad S., Google)
- "while everyone responded by text, Ricardo was the only one to call me directly." (Paul K., Yelp)
And one spa removal came after a different crew couldn't finish:
Ricardo and Brian did an amazing job helping us out with a difficult removal of a spa from our yard that involved a lot of outdoor stairs. Legacy scheduled us the next morning when they saw we were in need of immediate assistance after another team was unable to complete the job and had to stop half way. Legacy really got us out of a pinch when we needed it most and we are very grateful for them. Thanks very much to all the Legacy team! We will definitely call them again if we need this type of service in the future.
What "family-run" meant to them
Legacy was founded in 2019 by Ricardo Diaz and runs out of a yard on Victory Blvd in North Hollywood. We're rated 5.0 on Google across 463 reviews. A family business: Ricardo works alongside his dad and his brother, with a crew customers know by name: Brian, Carlos and Rene. Customers mention the family part often, in their own way:
- "I immediately knew I wanted to work with this family-owned business due to his kindness and professionalism." (Grace Y., Yelp)
- "Such professionalism from this small family business" (Amalia L., Yelp)
How to compare any two haulers
Whoever you call, local or national, these questions make quotes comparable:
- Send the same photos to everyone. Include the whole pile and anything heavy.
- Ask what's included: loading, hauling, disposal, sweeping up.
- Ask about extras: stairs, long carries, same-day fees, heavy material.
- Ask if the price can change on site, and why it would.
- Read recent reviews that mention jobs like yours, not just the star count.
If you're weighing a free city pickup or a DIY trip instead, see city bulky pickup vs. a private hauler and junk removal vs. renting a truck.
When to call a hauler
If you're collecting quotes, add ours to the pile. Text a few photos, tell us about stairs or tight spots, and we'll reply with a price. Same-day service most days when you reach us by early afternoon; next-morning slots are common. You can also read more reviews first.
