Can you clear out an apartment, even upstairs?

Yes. Text photos of each room, the floor you're on and whether there's an elevator. We text back a price. The crew carries everything out from where it sits, down the stairs or through the elevator and loading dock, and sweeps up. We give a one- to two-hour arrival window and call or text when the crew heads over.

What we take

  • Apartment and condo move-out leftovers
  • Furniture from second- and third-floor walk-ups
  • Sectionals that have to come apart to fit the stairs
  • Mattresses, beds and dressers
  • Things a tenant left behind
  • Bags, boxes and cardboard

Ask us first

  • Furniture or mattresses with bed bugs or other pests: ask us first.
  • We don't take paint, chemicals (like motor oil and solvents), tires, asbestos, medical waste, ammunition or propane tanks, empty or full. We'll point you to the right drop-off.

Always included

Loading, hauling, disposal and sweep-up are included.

How our pricing works

How it works

Most jobs go from first text to swept-up driveway the same way.

  1. Send photos

Text a few photos and your ZIP, or use the quote form. Wide shots of the pile or room work best.

“Sent them a pic and they sent a quote with a range low to high…” Tim S.

  2. Get a price by text

We text back a price based on truck space and labor.

“Got a call back from Ricardo immediately after placing online request.” Stacy O.

  3. Pick a time

Same-day and next-morning pickups most days. We give you a window and text before we arrive.

“They gave me a 2 hr service window and texted me 20 min before their arrival.” Janet S.

  4. We haul it and sweep up

We carry everything out from wherever it sits, load the truck, and sweep up before we leave.

“took everything, broke down old play equipment, and even swept up.” Michelle M.

How much does apartment junk removal cost?

An apartment job is priced by how much of the truck it fills plus labor. Walk-ups, long hallways and a far loading zone add labor; an elevator you've reserved saves it.

Text us a few photos and your ZIP. You get a price back by text, and that's the number you pay unless what's there is different from what was in the photos.

Fastest quote: text photos of your items to (909) 566-3090.

Apartment jobs are mostly about access: the stairs, the elevator, the hallway and where the truck can stop. Here's how a move-out or a left-behind unit gets cleared, and what to sort out with the building first.

What's included, step by step

  1. Photos of each room. Plus the floor, whether there's an elevator, and where a truck can stop.
  2. A price and a time by text. Same-day service most days when you reach us by early afternoon; next-morning slots are common.
  3. A walkthrough on arrival. Before we start, the crew walks through with you, confirms exactly what's going and the final price, and can do the job in the same visit.
  4. The carry. Furniture comes apart where it has to, then goes down the stairs or through the elevator and loading dock. Nothing to prep: no bagging, staging or carrying to the curb. We take it from where it sits.
  5. Swept and done. The floor is swept, and you can send a photo to the landlord or property manager.

Before apartment move-out day

  • Ask the building whether the elevator or loading dock needs to be reserved.
  • Find a spot where a truck can park legally, and check the street for sweeping signs.
  • Have the gate code, lockbox code or building contact ready if you won't be there.
  • Say what stays: appliances that belong to the unit, anything the landlord owns.
  • Pull paint, chemicals and batteries aside.
  • Empty drawers and cushions; things turn up in them all the time.

Walk-ups, elevators and sectionals

Walk-ups. Second- and third-floor units without an elevator mean every piece is carried down. Sectionals separate, legs come off sofas, and bed frames break down so they clear stair landings. Tell us about the tightest turn.

Elevators and docks. Many buildings require the elevator or loading dock to be reserved for move-outs. Ask the manager before the day, and tell us the window you got.

Parking. LA cites cars parked on posted sweeping routes on sweeping day,[1] so a legal spot close to the door speeds the job. In Burbank, a yellow curb allows loading for up to 20 minutes between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. unless signs say otherwise.[2]

California and LA rules that apply

Apartment buildings and city pickup. LA's free bulky program is aimed at homes LA Sanitation services, and its single-family pages cover buildings of 1 to 4 units.[3] In North Hollywood's 91601 ZIP, about 70% of housing units are in buildings with 5 or more units.[4] Glendale gives buildings with a private hauler up to four free appointments a year, each capped at four bulky items,[5] and Pasadena apartment residents go through their building's private hauler.[6]

Move-out boxes in LA. LA Sanitation runs a separate Move-In/Move-Out pickup for bags and boxes on trash day, booked at least one business day ahead. Each bag or box can weigh up to 30 pounds and measure no more than 2 by 3 feet, and cardboard must be flattened and tied.[7]

Don't stage it early. Burbank asks for bulky items to go out no earlier than the night before,[8] Glendale after 6 p.m. the evening before,[9] and Pasadena no more than 24 hours early.[6] Glendale treats curb piles without an arranged pickup as illegal dumping,[10] and Pasadena can cite them.[11]

Left by the curb or in the alley. Leaving furniture on public or private property without permission is illegal dumping,[12] with a first-conviction fine of $250 to $1,000.[12]

Things a tenant left behind. California has rules for a former tenant's property. Read the landlord guide and the official sources it links to before anything is hauled.

What affects the price

  • Volume. A few pieces of furniture and a whole one-bedroom of leftovers are different loads. Photos of every room keep the price accurate.
  • Floor and route. Walk-ups, long hallways and courtyard buildings take more time than a ground-floor unit by the street.
  • Disassembly. Sectionals, bunk beds and platform beds take time to break down.
  • Access and parking. A reserved elevator and a legal spot near the door save time.

Apartment junk removal: questions

We're on the third floor with an elevator. Can you help?

Yes. Ask the building whether the elevator or loading dock has to be reserved, and tell us the floor when you text photos. The crew brings everything down and out to the truck.

What if there's no elevator?

The crew carries everything down the stairs. Mention the floor, the stairwell and the tightest turn, so the crew comes ready to take legs off or split a sectional before it goes down.

Do I have to bring everything to one spot?

No. Nothing to prep: no bagging, staging or carrying to the curb. We take it from where it sits. Just tell us what's staying.

Can you come while I'm at work?

Often, yes. If the building manager, a neighbor or a lockbox can let the crew in, the details can be handled by text, and you get a photo once the unit is clear. We give a one- to two-hour arrival window and call or text when the crew heads over.

The new tenant moves in tomorrow. Can you clear the unit today?

That's a common job. Same-day service most days when you reach us by early afternoon; next-morning slots are common. Send photos of each room and the move-in deadline. If today is full, a next-morning slot often still beats the turnover. See [same-day junk removal](/same-day-junk-removal) for how a rush job is scheduled.

Do you work with property managers?

Yes. Send the unit address, how the crew gets in (lockbox, gate code or an on-site contact), and what has to stay. For a former tenant's belongings, see the [landlord guide](/guides/landlord-abandoned-property-cleanout-los-angeles) before anything is hauled.
