We could tell you that same-day pickup is fast and easy, but you'd expect us to say that. So this post is built from what customers wrote on Google and Yelp instead. Every review below is quoted word for word, including the spelling, and nothing has been added to the stories. Our part is only the framing between them.
How fast "same day" actually turned out
The most specific reviews are the ones with times in them. This customer called in the morning and had the crew there before lunch:
Legacy was great, I called at 9:30 in the morning, they showed up at 11 and hauled all the furniture out of my guest house in 30 minutes. They were very professional and polite. I highly recommend them.
Others describe a similar window. Lori H. wrote on Google, "We called Ricardo at 8:30am on a Tuesday and they were able to arrive the same day by 11:30am!" Tariq A., writing on Yelp about a business pickup, said, "I called them at 10am and they came and cleaned all out wood pallets at 1pm."
Sometimes the gap was even shorter. This one is from a North Hollywood customer:
Brian was the best. The service was super friendly, price was great and they did it within an hour of reaching out to them. This was in North Hollywood. Will 1000% use them whenever i need something removed in the future
A pattern shows up across these: a call or message in the morning, a crew on site a couple of hours later, and the actual loading taking far less time than the wait.
Why people needed it gone that day
Nobody books same-day pickup for fun. In the reviews, the reasons fall into a few groups.
A move with a deadline. Moving out tends to leave a pile that has to be gone before the next person gets the keys. This reviewer had furniture stuck on a driveway for a week:
Legacy Junk Removal came the same day I called. I was moving out my house for the past week and had a bunch of junk furniture on the driveway just sitting there. 1-800-Junk would not send somebody to pick it up until next Friday. I called Legacy Junk Removal and they showed up within an hour and got the driveway looking pretty for the new owner. I will be using their services again in the future.
Weather. A storm can turn a room of furniture into a problem overnight, and nobody wants soaked couches sitting around until the next trash day:
Ricardo was prompt, professional and fast!! I called in the middle of the day and he was out here in less than two hours and took all the damaged furniture and junk left from the bad rains we had. And for the best price!!
Chris G. wrote on Google about a pickup on a day when conditions weren't great either: "Legacy Junk Removal came out same day while raining and removed all of our junk within minutes."
Someone else fell through. Several reviews describe calling after another plan fell through. Adriana H. put it this way on Google: "I was having issues with a previous place not following through and picking up our couch and really needed it gone same day."
What happened once the crew showed up
Speed of arrival is one thing. The reviews also talk about what the visit itself was like, and the word that keeps coming up is quick:
Had a great experience with Legacy Junk Removal in Sherman Oaks. Booking was fast and easy, and they were even able to accommodate same-day service. Brian and Carlos showed up on time and removed a sectional in about two minutes. The service was quick, professional, and at an unbeatable price. Completely hassle-free experience. Highly recommend them if you need junk removed quickly and efficiently. Thanks again!
Honestly the easiest junk hauling experience. Got a call back from Ricardo immediately after placing online request. Junk was removed on the same day and took less than 15 minutes. They were upfront with pricing. Employees were super kind and professional. I wish I had found this company for my previous junk hauls. Highly recommend!
What stands out in the second review is the order of events: an online request, a call back, and a price discussed before anything was loaded. A rushed job still starts with a price you've agreed to.
The late-night call
One review stands apart from the rest:
Called legacy at 1am in an emergency and they showed up no questions asked. Highly recommend.
We're including it because it's real and the customer took the time to write it. It shouldn't be read as a promise of overnight service, though. What we do say is this: Same-day service most days when you reach us by early afternoon; next-morning slots are common. That middle-of-the-night emergency was a case where the schedule happened to line up.
What same-day doesn't mean
It's worth being straight about the limits. Same-day depends on the day's schedule, and some days are already full. Customers noticed that too. Sabrina C. wrote on Google, "I know same day can’t always happen but I appreciate that you got it done the same day I called."
Sometimes next morning is the better fit for the customer anyway. Mattias C. wrote on Yelp, "They came out the day after calling, per my choice as they wouldve came out the same day." And for plenty of people, the following morning was fast enough:
I had a great experience with Legacy! I submitted a form online to remove a loveseat and ottoman in North Hollywood, and Ricardo got back to me right away. He gave me a quote and said they had a slot open the following morning. Carlos and Brian came at the top of the hour and they had my furniture removed within five minutes. They were very professional and friendly. I shopped around to compare prices and Legacy was the most reasonable option. Glad I chose them and I would highly recommend!
If same-day isn't open when you reach out, ask for the earliest slot that is. A firm next-morning time is often more useful than a vague maybe.
How to give yourself the best shot at a same-day slot
Based on how the fastest jobs in these reviews went, a few things help:
- Reach out early. Open 24 hours. Call or text anytime. Most of the same-day stories above start with a morning call or message.
- Send photos with your first message. A few wide shots of the items, plus where they are in the house, let us give you a price without a separate visit.
- Include your ZIP and access details. Stairs, a gate code, an upstairs unit or a long driveway all change how the crew plans the stop.
- Say what's in the pile. If there's paint, chemicals or tires mixed in, mention it so there are no surprises on arrival.
- Be reachable. The quicker you confirm the price and time, the sooner the truck can head your way.
